Prolific Impressions – Printmaking Now
The Printmaker is a most peculiar being. He [she] delights in deferred gratification and in doing what does not come naturally. He [she] takes pleasure in working backward or in opposites: the gesture that produces a line of force moving to the right prints to the left, and vice versa; a deeply engraved trench in a copper or zinc plate prints as a depression in the paper. Left is right. Right is left. Backward is forward. The Printmaker, peculiar as he [she] is, must see at least two sides to every question.

Jules Heller, Printmaking Today

10 Featured Artist Awards chosen by Kelly Driscoll, Associate
Professor of Fine Arts, Pratt Institute.

RE:fuse/RE:use -
Tabletop Assemblage

Assemblage elevates mundane trash to heights undreamed of by the slinking dump rat. Under the artist’s direction fasteners of every sort become the strings that hold the universe together. In the artist’s eyes just stuff gets a freshen-up, elocution rises to aesthetics, and knowledge proves from nothing. Not one thing is safe from the assemblage artist’s beady once-over… and the world beholds an
alien object.

James Head,
Hyperbolic Chambers of Art

10 Featured Artist Awards chosen by Deborah Fries, of Fusion Arts
Museum in Manhattan.
