Kai Schiemenz will be one of the many artists participating in “THE KNOT”.
THE KNOT is mobile unit for artistic production and presentation in Berlin, Warsaw and Bucharest. The Knot is a temporary, mobile structure which is travelling to Berlin, Warsaw and Bucharest in the year of 2010, where it will constitute a micro-model for what could be a better city of the present.
The Knot is built to incorporate the different functions it has: production/manufacture workshop, classroom, kitchen, café, laboratory, stage, bedroom, disco, exhibition space, and archive. Throughout the weeks when it lands to the three cities, a wide array of activities, events and occurrences will be hosted by and within The Knot, inviting publics to try out various ways of interacting with each other and with the city, of participating in the creation of their own subjectivities. Working with artists, anthropologists, architects, poets or carpenters, the team of curators proposes a set of formats of approach rather than a prescribed content to be consumed.
The Knot is a project by the Temporary Curators Collective (Markus Bader, Oliver Baurhenn, Jakub Szreder, Raluca Voinea) in cooperation with Goethe-Institut Warsaw, Polnisches Institut Berlin, Raumlabor Berlin and E-cart.ro. The Knot is supported by EU Culture 2007-2013 Programme, Hauptstadtkulturfonds Berlin, Goethe Institut, Polnisches Institut.
