Organized by The New New Museum, Toronto
Joseph Drapell, Andre Fauteux, Curated by Anna Maclachlan (all Triangle alumni)

While the innovation of the oldest artists in this group is well known, one can still be truly startled by the audacity of the huge (and wonderful) Green Dip by Bush, and also by some works of Fauteux and Drapell that simply do not fit into the expected canon of each artist.
Our gratitude goes to the organizers of the current AGO exhibition of Abstract Expressionism which inspired us. Our concept was to map the less known developments that followed.
All six artists in our exhibition long absorbed the international heritage of Abstract Expressionism and contributed the next step: the new visual experiences, the new art that holds, and grows within us with time’s passing. Viewing the two exhibitions concurrently may reveal how much originality these artists had to apply to achieve this.
