THIS IS IT – The Restless, December 8, 2011 – January 5, 2012

This exhibition took on two iterations. The first was an immersive installation which included sculpture, video and sound.

Triangle Arts Association is pleased to present THIS IS IT. The RESTLESS a sculptural installation and book project by The Fluff Construct that positions the viewer within the center of an odd exploration of endings: losses and gains, finality and transformation, last stands, and ultimately death. THIS IS IT. The RESTLESS is both a dramatic proclamation of a final work, a dying gasp, as well as an outward yet awkward declaration of youthful creative completion and presentation (“I did it! This is it! See what it is!”).

The Fluff Construct is an art collaborative founded in 2000 in Cedar Falls, Iowa composed of Mikel Bisbee-Durlam, Shawn Cheatham and Ethan Kruszka. The group currently works between studios in Brooklyn, NY/Saint Paul, MN/Tampa, FL. The group produces performances, installations and videos that combine elements of phantasmagoria with post-situationist interventions in order to create images, scenes and experiences that conflate personal narratives and collective histories. The Fluff Construct has performed and exhibited nationally and internationally.
